93% Reason To Cherish Mom This Mother's Day

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

By the time we are and adult, we would have already spent 93% of our in-person parent time. We should appreciate our time with them now. In honor of Mother's Day, the Bible Verse of the Week is:

Proverbs 6: 20 (ESV)
My son, keep your father's commandment,
and forsake not your mother's teaching.

Words for Mothers
Thank you! A mother's teaching has so much influence in training up a child in a way he should go (Proverbs 22:6). Check out the Focus on The Family article on Parental Authority Over a Grown Child. Please keep this in mind before your "child graduates into a position of self-responsibility." Your time with young children is exponential compared to your adult children. God has entrusted you to mold the next generation of Christians =)

Words for Children (Young and Adult)
Cherish Mom. Assuming you moved out or went to college at age 18, the only times you would see your parents would be on special occasions, holidays, at church, on weekends, and may be a day here and there. The 93% figure is staggering. After high school, if seeing our parents in person in a lifetime was scaled into a year, we would only have about a month left (Dec 5th to 31st remain).

If you are a Mom (or Dad), it would be awesome to let us know of any parenting advice.
